Article published in French on May 10th 2017 in Le Droit newspaper to honour Lt Laura Gamble, one of the nursing sisters or Bluebirds as they were called, who served during WWI. She is described as a heroine of the 150th anniversary of Confederation. She was born in 1887 in Wakefield, Québec. She joined No 4 Cdn Gen Hosp (U of T) in 1915 in Toronto. in May of the same year she was sent to England and then France to work as a nurse in No 5 Cdn Gen Hosp. She also served on borad a Hospital Ship in the Mediterranean and on 28 Oct 1915 arrived at the Greek island north-West of the Eagean sea. Click here to read.
